Traditional backup and recovery vendors are not architected to cope with a wide variety of systems in an effective way. Where Does the Name “Bacula” Come From?

The word “Bacula” is combined by its founder Kern Sibbald from 2 separate words: “backup” itself and “Dracula” who comes at night and performs backups, silently taking out the data.
