Bacula Systems’ new Enterprise Edition 8.4 introduces advanced Instant Single File Restore for VMware and Exchange Single Mailbox recovery into complete Physical and Virtual data recovery solution

October 28, 2015, Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland – Continuing to lead in high performance backup and restore for large enterprises, Bacula Systems today announced Bacula Enterprise 8.4, featuring Single File Restore for VMware and Single Mailbox Recovery for Exchange.

This new functionality, together with new dedicated GUI management tools, enables data centers to become more efficient in data management, as well as backup their entire physical and virtual environments with one seamless solution.

Answering the industries’ challenge of exploding data volume with a low cost subscription model that does not charge by data volume, Bacula Systems latest release builds further on a highly scalable backup and restore solution that is effective and relevant to both modestly-sized and large data centers

The features of the 8.4 version release are:

• Fast Single File Restore for VMware. Designed to quickly and simply do file level restores (FLR) for any Virtual Machine running Guest OS’s and File Systems that VMware supports. Bacula’s Single File Restore for VMware is compatible with an impressive range of systems, including Linux, Windows, LVM support, ext3, ext4, and XFS, Windows FAT, NTFS, multidrive – and many more.
• Single File Restore can be via either text interface, or Bacula’s BWeb Management Suite. This brings the opportunity to use customized scripts, or instead use an easy, informative GUI interface.
• Exchange Single Mailbox Restore. This restores any or all Exchange mailboxes, whether on virtual or physical machines – including even compressed, deduplicated, Full, and Incremental backups. Recovery of hard deleted items, and Application-item recovery is possible.
